Yesterday my new Heresy style terminator shoulder pads arrived from Chapterhouse Studios, and I got right to work on this guy again.
I don't find this the most flattering angle, but I've found Ultramarine Blue is a huge help when it comes to making a dodgy looking barely-WIP into a polished semi-finished project. Like so...But the problem remained one of stature. He's just too short compared to the new plastic version, and you can see in the first shot he's very broad for his height now. I'm going to have to try something new.
I've trimmed the 'toes' off his feet and added to segments of 1mm plasticard to bulk out his feet. I've noted the Forgeworld Contemptor dreadnoughts and Tartaros Terminator suits have very 'deep' shoes and have decided to try a similar look for this model.
This seems to have worked out well, but the lower sections will need another strip of greenstuff over them to bulk them out. I had to stop here for now to let the putty dry. Here's a comparisonside-by-side shot next to his unmodified 'twin' so we can see how much bulkier he is now. Which do you think is more intimidating?
If you say the one of the left, LEAVE NOW. Thanks.
